REALISTIC WATER PROBLEM LOOMS OVER SHARON SPRINGS FORMATION

Post by Relentless » August 17th, 2015, 1:57 pm

Many of the residents of the proposed new City of Sharon Springs presently get their drinking water from the City of Cumming. If the residents of Sharon Springs vote to incorporate a new city, their new government, just like the Forsyth County Government, will be faced with negotiating an Intergovernmental Agreement with the City of Cumming for their water needs.

As is happening now with Forsyth County Residents, those new Sharon Springs residents who are presently getting their water from the City of Cumming will be facing increased rates, and possibly threats from the City of Cumming to actually have their water shut off. This has happened to Forsyth County in their last two IGA water negotiations.

Due to Federal & State Regulations, the City of Sharon Springs will not be permitted to extract their own water from Lake Lanier
