Call to Members of the 11th District Committee of the Georgia Republican Party
Subject: 11th District Committee Meeting
Meeting Date: Monday, July 11th, 2016 at 7:00pm
Location: Cobb County (details below)
Article II § 2.01(c) of the Georgia Eleventh Congressional District Republican Committee Rules states that meetings of the 11th District Committee of the Georgia Republican Party (hereinafter the “11th District Committee”) shall be held upon written notice, given at least ten days in advance on the call or one-third of the members. Pursuant to this rule, the following one-third of the members of the 11th District Committee hereby notify the full 11th District Committee that a meeting shall be held on July 11th at 7:00pm in Cobb County.
As other meetings have been held at the Cobb County Republican Party headquarters on Roswell Street, it is the intention of this one-third of the membership that the July 11th meeting also should be held there, assuming the tenants of that property find it agreeable once more. If not, then this 1/3 membership hereby delegates to our senior member Boyd Parks the representative authority on our behalf to designate an alternative location. Wherever the meeting is held, it shall be open to anyone from the public to attend and observe.
The primary purpose of the meeting shall be for the committee to review and vote concerning charges and evidence that has been submitted to members of the committee asserting that public donations 11th District Chair Brad Carver made to candidates for political office belonging to the Democratic Party constitutes “cause” for removal under Article 11 § 2.07 of the Georgia Eleventh Congressional District Republican Committee Rules and Rule 8.16 of the rules of the Georgia Republican Party. A summary of the formal charges against Chair Brad Carver is attached with this Call in Exhibit A. A memorandum on the legal interpretation and application of these rules in this kind of controversy is attached with this Call in Exhibit B.
The meeting is being scheduled on July 11th because Section 2.07(a)(iii) specifies that at least 32 days’ notice must be given in advance for a meeting to consider the removal of an officer of the committee, and because the committee in the past has preferred Monday evenings.
Mr. Carver and/or his appointed representative shall be allowed the opportunity to be heard and to give an answer to the charges
set forth in this Call.
Other appropriate business of the 11th District Committee may also be reviewed at this meeting. This call is signed by the following one-third members or more of the 11th District Committee of the Georgia Republican Party:
