Nsenga Burton is a media scholar, award-winning professor, and blogger. She serves as editor-at-large for The Root (a Univision company) and contributor to Huffington Post Black Voices.
In 2012, Dr. Burton founded The Burton Wire, an award-winning new blog that covers global news of the African Diaspora.
She serves as Professor and Chair of the Department of Mass Media Arts at Clark Atlanta University.
Dr. Burton has served as Executive Director of the National Association of Multicultural Digital Entrepreneurs for the past four years.
She is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists, the NAACP Image Awards Nominating Committee, the Online News Association, the National Communications Association, NU Council of 100, and the African American Film Critics Association.
Dr. Burton is the chair of the Atlanta Youth Commission Board.
Dr. Burton holds degrees in media studies and production from Northwestern University (B.S. Radio/TV/Film), New York University (M.A. Cinema Studies), University of Pennsylvania (M.A. Communication), and the University of Southern California (Ph.D. Critical Studies in Film and Television).
She currently resides in Atlanta with her daughter Kai and fur-son Mr. Miyagi.
