Governor Nathan Deal administers oaths for appointed judges Clint Garry Bearden, Kathryn L. Powers, and Shalonda Jones-Parker in the North Wing of the State Capitol in Atlanta, Georgia on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at 1:30 p.m.
Blue Ridge attorney Clint Bearden, Deal’s former intern and a lawyer in the law offices of Georgia House Speaker David Ralston, R-Blue Ridge, was sworn in to the Northeastern Judicial Circuit Superior Court.
Kathryn Powers, a Clayton County State Court judge and former executive assistant DA, was sworn in as a Clayton County Superior Court judge.
Shalonda Jones-Parker, Clayton County deputy chief assistant solicitor, was sworn is as a Clayton State Court judge.
VoterGA founder Garland Favorito comments on the swearing in of Clint Bearden over objections because Bearden instigated the arrest of citizen journalist Nydia Tisdale while she video recorded a public campaign rally in 2014.
