Good afternoon, everyone. How's everyone doing today? [applause] Good, good.

My name is Ragin Edwards. Um, it's actually spelled R-a-g-i-n [holds up misspelled name card], Edwards is spelled correctly.

And I'm a professional and a mother. I actually graduated from high school right in the sixth district in east Cobb at Pope High, and then I went to Georgia Tech with the Hope scholarship. Thanks to Ron Slotin.

I then moved up to Washington, D.C. and worked for a presidential appointee named Philip Mongano, who was actually appointed under George W. Bush.

And that was my first, my first mission, trying to eradicate homelessness in America.

After that, I had a stint at the Department of Energy under the civil rights lawyers.

And then, when I started a family, I decided to move to the best place in America and that was back to the sixth district.

You know, I've always been a political junkie ever since I was a kid, but, you know, I've protested and I have worked on different campaigns, you know, with my friends and tried to get younger people to vote.

And I decided that it was time for me to take my turn, and make my voice heard for the people because what we need in Congress are average people that have a heart for the people — and that's who I am.

I come from a history of people that have fought for education and civil rights — all the way from my great, great grandfather to my grandmother to my mother who was a woman that was in corporate America that made strides that helped other minorities have a voice.

So, I'm here today to tell you that the only way Americans can take back America is to make sure that there is truth and transparency in government, and to use the tools that we already have to make sure this happens.

My name is Ragin Edwards. Thank you for your time.

Good afternoon. How is everyone doing today? Good, good.

My name is Ragin Bullard Edwards. I currently reside in the sixth district, in east Cobb and I actually graduated high school in east Cobb, as well.

Then got the Hope scholarship and went to Georgia Tech. Moved up to D.C. and worked for a presidential appointee, as well as for the Department of Energy.

Currently, I work at a global, financial services firm that deals with big data, and I've had a lot of time, and I have a lot of understanding about the technological landscape that we're currently living in.

I'm currently a member of the ACLU, TAG — the Technology Association of Georgia — and I have been for a while — Women in Technology, as well as a sales management association.

I'm a professional, and I'm a mother of two girls.

I say all this to tell you that I have perspective. I understand what it means to buy the bill, and to work in corporate America.

I understand what businesses need to thrive, and that's what I want to give to those business owners of the sixth district. I want you to continue to thrive and I want you to soar.

So, um, on April 18th — or before — definitely put your vote in for Ragin Edwards, because I'm here for you.

Wes Moss: Thank you, Ragin. We're gonna go to table one, here.
